The Municipality of Markstay-Warren is a rural municipality in Northeastern Ontario with a population of 2700 and 1300 households. Located between two (2) major centres being the City of Greater Sudbury and The City of North Bay along Highway 17 East corridor, it offers its residents an abundance of clean air, natural features, ideal boating, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, golfing and numerous recreational amenities within or nearby our municipality making it an exceptional place to both live and work.

The Corporation of the Municipality of Markstay-Warren is currently seeking a dynamic and qualified person to fill the position of Treasurer/Tax Collector/Deputy Clerk. This position is a permanent full-time non-unionized position.

Reporting directly to the CAO/Clerk, the Treasurer/Tax Collector/Deputy Clerk will fulfill the statutory duties of Treasurer and Tax Collector as well as of Deputy Clerk including management of accounts payable and receivable, tax collection, utility billing (water and sewer), payroll, budget preparation and control, financial research, financial reporting and attending council meetings.

The ideal candidate will have related post secondary training/education, three to five years of related experience in financial/treasury positions, preferably in a municipal setting and a sound knowledge of municipal financial legislation and practices. Your qualifications include excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience with spreadsheet and word processing applications.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Municipality offers a comprehensive benefit package including OMERS pension plan.
