The Municipality of Markstay-Warren is advising residents that the playgrounds located in Hagar and Warren are closed effective immediately and until further notice.
Following a recent independent playground safety inspection, concerns were identified that require further review and corrective action. Out of an abundance of caution, and to protect the health and safety of children and families, the Municipality has closed both playgrounds while the inspection findings are reviewed and the necessary work is completed.
Closure signs will be posted at both locations. Residents are asked to respect the closures and not use or enter the playground areas.
The Markstay playground and splash pad remain open and available for public use.
The Municipality understands that the closures in Hagar and Warren will be disappointing for children and families, particularly during the summer months. However, public safety must remain our first priority.
