3WAIT FOR A STATUS MESSAGE The RVA Site Inspector will provide one status: ACCEPTED with a proposed time, PENDING with the next update time, or DECLINED with the reason and next available opportunity.
4CONFIRM YOUR PROPOSED TIME Reply “CONFIRMED [Request ID]” by the stated deadline. If you do not reply, the Inspector will call once. Until confirmation is received, your request remains pending and the time may be released.
5ARRIVE AT THE HOLDING POINT Arrive approximately [5 minutes] early and stop at the signed holding point. Do not drive toward the bridge. If you are late, the crossing opportunity may have to be rescheduled.
6WAIT FOR THE TRAFFIC CONTROLLER A confirmed time reserves an opportunity only. Proceed only after the Contractor has made the route safe and the traffic controller gives you a clear signal.

PENDINGThe request is still being coordinated. Do not approach the bridge. Wait for the next update time in the message.
DECLINEDThe requested time cannot be provided safely. The message will give the reason and, where possible, the next opportunity.
CANCELLED / DELAYEDConditions changed after scheduling. Follow the revised instruction and do not enter the work zone.

EMERGENCY AND REMINDERS

911 For fire, police, ambulance, or any immediate threat, call 911 first. Tell dispatch your civic address and that bridge construction may affect access.NO SELF-ENTRY Never walk or drive into the work area without a clear release and any required escort.
EXPECT CHANGE Weather, excavation, equipment movement, or other hazards may delay or cancel a proposed crossing.KEEP CONTACT CURRENT Tell the project team if your phone number or preferred communication method changes.

DELIVERIES DURING CONSTRUCTION

Residents are encouraged to have non-essential deliveries, including online orders, sent to an alternative address whenever possible, such as a workplace, family member’s residence, or designated pickup location.

ADDITIONAL CROSSING REQUESTS

Additional crossings outside the scheduled access periods are offered on a best-efforts basis to accommodate higher-priority needs and support residents during construction. Each unplanned crossing requires construction activities to stop and the route to be made safe, which may delay the work and result in additional project costs. To keep this option available, residents are asked to use additional crossing requests only when reasonably necessary. If the process is repeatedly misused, additional crossings may be restricted or discontinued
