The Municipality operates 212km of roadway, 195km of that roadway is in outlying seasonally<br>maintained and year-round maintained roads. The Municipality is looking for a solution to cut the grass<br>in these areas once per year around late July through August. The bids will be reviewed at the Council meeting on September 8th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Questions and Answers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Question 1: is GIS data available?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Answer: Yes.&nbsp; The following URL links to a public facing map <a href=\"https:\/\/arcg.is\/1CXPH45\">https:\/\/arcg.is\/1CXPH45<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Question 2: How many road signs do you have and what is the expected clearance radius around the road sign.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Answer: Our current asset management database has 392 signs listed.&nbsp; The contract expects a 1m radius cleared around the signs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Question 3: What is the expected frequency of Service<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Answer: Our current level of service expects a single cutting cycle during late summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Question 4: Who is responsible for traffic control and what is expected.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Answer: The contractor is responsible for traffic control for the duration of the contract.&nbsp; The Municipality expects the contractor to be familiar with the requirements laid out in Book 7.&nbsp; The contractor will be responsible for the safety plan and temporary signage in work zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Question 5: Can the Municipality share the previous contract value or name of the previous contractor?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Answer: The Municipality used to cut their own shoulders and had a few poorly specified contracts in the past.&nbsp; The Municipality is looking for some fresh numbers based on the current specifications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Municipality of Markstay-Warren is looking for proposals for two options for our roadside grasscutting.
