These rates are then applied to MPAC assessments to determine the municipal portion of your property taxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visit MPAC website for more details: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpac.ca\/en\/UnderstandingYourAssessment\/PropertyAssessmentandPropertyTaxes\">MPAC Property Assessment<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-4fc3f8e1 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Billing<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Billing Cycle:<\/strong> Four (4) installments per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Interim Billing:<\/strong> Issued in <strong>February<\/strong> and <strong>March<\/strong> (dates may vary slightly). <strong>Interim Amount:<\/strong> Calculated at <strong>50% of the previous year\u2019s annualized taxes<\/strong> for your property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Final Billing:<\/strong> Issued in <strong>July<\/strong> and <strong>August<\/strong> (dates may vary slightly). <strong>Final Amount:<\/strong> Reflects any <strong>increase or decrease in your property assessment<\/strong> for the current taxation year, as well as the approved municipal tax rates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-4fc3f8e1 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Method of Payment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents can pay their taxes using any of the following methods:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-7c536dd4 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pre\u2011Authorized Payment Plan (PAP)<\/strong> Payments are withdrawn automatically on the <strong>10th<\/strong> or the <strong>20th<\/strong> of each month. To enroll, complete the <strong>Pre\u2011Authorized Payment Plan Form<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cash<\/strong> Accepted in person at the municipal office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cheque<\/strong> Payable to the Municipality of Markstay\u2011Warren. Can be dropped off in person or placed in the after\u2011hours drop box.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Debit<\/strong> Available at the municipal office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Online Banking<\/strong> Add the Municipality of Markstay\u2011Warren as a payee through your financial institution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>TelPay<\/strong> Payments can be made through the TelPay system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have any questions about your tax bill or payment options, please contact our office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-4fc3f8e1 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tax Calculation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Property taxes are calculated using two components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Municipal Residential Tax Rate<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Education Tax Rate<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>municipal residential rate<\/strong> is the <em>only<\/em> portion that municipalities control.
